The UK Trade & Investment Trade Teams in Yorkshire & the Humber and the North East are jointly organising a market visit to Turkey.
Turkey is currently the world’s 15th and Europe’s 6th largest economy with a population of around 72 million.
In 1995 Turkey signed a Customs Union agreement with the EU and is officially recognised as a candidate for full membership.
Turkey is also a springboard to the markets of Central Asia & the Middle East.
With more than 1,600 UK companies doing business in Turkey today there are significant trade and investment opportunities both now and in the long term in virtually every sector. UK Trade & Investment can help you get the best out of these opportunities by providing advice and support through its UK and overseas networks.
UKTI has identified a range of key sectors where Turkish demand for British expertise is likely to be particularly strong, including (priority sectors) environment, water, ports and agriculture. Other opportunity sectors include airports, financial services, education & skills and ICT.
The market visit will take place from 13-18 September 2009. Details of the itinerary are included in the event flyer.
