A Taste of Britain in the Algarve

As part of UK Trade & Investment’s Taste of Britain programme, food and drink companies are invited to join a visit to the Algarve, the most famous tourist destination in Portugal.

Participating companies will have the opportunity to learn more about the Portuguese market, especially in the tourist sector, and to showcase their products at a mini exhibition at a prestigious hotel in Armação de Pêra near Faro, to which importers, distributors and buyers will be invited.

UKTI Portugal has developed excellent contacts with key players in the market and this unique mini trade fair will be an excellent platform for UK companies to meet with the right partners and buyers for their products in Portugal.

Particular business opportunities exist for companies dealing in:

  • Healthy eating / ‘free from’ products
  • British specialities
  • Breakfast products
  • Prepared and ready to eat foods
  • Food and drink for children and babies.

The visit will take place from 9-10 February 2010. The participation cost is £245 per company (£250 after 01/01/10 when VAT increases) paid as a contribution towards the UKTI Overseas Market Introduction Service (OMIS).

Eligible companies may be able to access UKTI funding – your application form will be sent to your local International Trade Advisor who will be able to assist you with this.

For further information please view the flyer and application form. Early application is advised.

Enquiries should be directed to UKTI’s food and drink regional sector specialist, Elsa Fairbanks, on 07768 771678 or by email at elsa@foodanddrinkexportese.co.uk.
