UK Trade & Investment (UKTI) is offering UK companies the opportunity to meet with international buyers from leading companies at its Meet the Buyer Event 2009.
The free-to-attend one day event will take place on 20 May; the middle day of Sustainabilitylive! which runs from 19-21 May 19 at the NEC, Birmingham.
Mike Goodwin, deputy head of the environment and water team at UKTI said: “Meet the Buyer 2008 achieved over 240 meetings between 59 UK suppliers and over 30 companies representing markets from the four corners of the globe.
“At Sustainabilitylive! 2009 we are really looking forward to emulating last year’s success. UKTI will once again provide the event with an international dimension by helping to hook UK companies up with buyers from 10 overseas markets.”
Representatives will have purchasing requirements in industry sectors such as: waste management; waste to energy and other renewables; contaminated land remediation and air control. There will be potential opportunities to break into: China; Egypt; Mexico; Portugal; Romania; Saudi Arabia; South Africa; Taiwan; Turkey and the USA.
Providing additional value, UKTI’s international trade advisers will be on hand to help attendees identify the right markets, give advice on business culture and provide access to networks within the presenting markets.
Meetings can be pre-booked, or visitors can just turn up to the networking reception which will take place at the UKTI stand at the entrance to hall three. For further details visit: www.itpc-nec.com, or email: Victoria.stubbs@necgroup.co.uk.
